Purpose: WACTA supports several awards given to WACTA members and its supporters.

Outstanding Career & Technical Education Administrator of the Year

Area Group Responsibilities:

Each Area Group shall submit one WACTA member nominee as Outstanding Career & Technical Education Administrator of the Year. THIS IS A 2 STEP PROCESS

    • STEP ONE: Each Area Group leader completes the NOMINEE FORM

      • Submitted No later than @ 5:00 p.m, February 4

    • STEP TWO: Each Area Group Admin of the Year completes the “State Admin of the Year Application” sent directly to them via email.

      • Complete the nomination application google survey form by 5:00 p.m., April 15.

      • Packets must include JPeg photo of the nominee


The CTE VIP Award is granted to a person who has made significant contributions to the world of CTE as viewed by WACTA members.

    • You can nominate a WACTA member at any time. Those received by April 15 will be considered for selection and announced at summer conference.
    • To nominate someone for the CTE VIP Award, please submit a detailed narrative describing the positive impact and contribution your nominee has made to the world of CTE via the  CTE VIP Award Nomination Sheet.

WACTA Career Service Award

WACTA Career Service Awards are given by paid WACTA Members leaving Career and Technical Education who have completed 25+ years of service in CTE. Career Service Award requests are due May 15.  These awards are announced at the Summer Conference.  Area groups are responsible to present this award if honorees are not at the Summer Conference.

Area Group Legislator of the Year is awarded to one person per area group to an elected official who has contributed to CTE in your area.  These awards are sent to area groups to award to their nominee.  Legislator of the Year requests are due May 15, 2023.
